LANGTANG GOSAIKUNDA HELAMBU TREK

langtang
13 Days
Moderate

Overview

This trek links three of central Nepal''s finest walking regions — the Langtang Valley, the sacred Gosaikunda Lakes, and the rolling hills of Helambu. Starting in the Langtang Valley beneath the glaciers of Langtang Lirung, the route climbs over the Laurebina Pass at 4,610 meters past the holy lakes, then descends through rhododendron forests and Hyolmo villages into the warm Helambu valley north of Kathmandu. It is one of the most varied treks in Nepal, covering everything from subtropical forest to high alpine terrain.

The Helambu section adds a cultural dimension that sets this trek apart. The Hyolmo people of Helambu are known for their Buddhist monasteries, traditional stone houses, and apple orchards. The descent from Gosaikunda winds through quiet villages like Tharepati and Kutumsang where tourism is still small-scale and the welcome is personal. This moderate trek is a great choice for those who want diversity in landscape and culture without extreme altitude.
