7 Days

Overview

Dudh Kunda is a sacred high-altitude lake at 4,560 meters in the Solukhumbu district, revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. The lake sits in a glacial basin below the rocky face of Numbur Himal, and during the Janai Purnima festival in August, thousands of pilgrims make the climb to its shores. The trail passes through quiet villages, forests of fir and birch, and open alpine meadows with views of the Everest range to the north.

This 7-day easy trek from Phaplu is one of the least visited routes in the region, offering genuine solitude. The Sherpa and Rai communities along the way are welcoming and the teahouses are simple but comfortable. It is a great option for those who want a spiritual and cultural experience alongside their mountain trek, without the crowds of the main Everest trails.
